Update:

I can now add Thai food to my ever growing list of ethnic foods consumed.

A groups of friends and I ate at Nahm-Jim:  http://www.nahm-jim.co.uk/
Nahm-Jim shot to fame in 2010 (and arguably before as many celebrities eat there: Hugh Grant, Sean Connery, Samuel L. Jackson--perhaps they go together after they finish a round of golf?) when it won Gordon Ramsey's Best Thai restaurant in the UK.

Enhancing my Palate.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a very American eater.  What does this mean you ask, well my favorite are hamburgers, BBQ (preferable J & L's--fingers crossed they re-open!), steak and potatoes and Mexican food (by which I mean fajitas, hold the peppers and onions please!).   Those are the foods that I call delish!
So coming to Scotland I have learned that the British did indeed earn their reputation for bad (bland) food.  For months I have eaten every kind and colour of soup imaginable (my favourite is the green soup),  quiche, and other types of somewhat bland food, with the occasional (i.e. sometimes twice a week) subway trip thrown in (Subway is the only fast food chain in St. Andrews).  So when my friend Ahmad offered to make a traditional Middle Eastern meal for a group of friends, we jumped on it.  He cooked for 5 hours straight and the result was a heavenly dance on my tongue!  So good! 4 different types of chicken some in sauce, some not), beef, shrimp, some bread covered in cheese and spices, 2 dishes that looked like rice, but had a fancy name, salads, humus, etc.  I didn't know the names of anything, all I knew was that I was glad he made us an "all you can eat" buffet.
Tonight for dinner, Deans Court was serving fish.  I know what you are thinking, I live on the coast so the fish must be to die for.  Well let's just say I wouldn't take a running leap off these coastal cliffs for it!  I'm not a huge fan of seafood as it is, but my friends here that do like seafood, say the Deans Court fish is blah.  Therefore, tonight we decided to go to an Indian restaurant and it was so good too.  I had a chicken Korma, nan, etc...  Now I am planning on finishing the evening with a tub (It's kind of little!) of Cookie Dough Ben & Jerry's Ice cream.  And that is what I call delish.
