This week I have had to say goodbye to two of my closest friends in St Andrews and it got me thinking to how soon it is when I go home. I'm very excited to go home and see family and friends, eat BBQ, good beef and Mexican, but I'm going to miss Scotland and so many special people on this side of the pond. This year truly was about "building international friendships."
On to what I've been doing these past few weeks: Toward the end of July I met my dear friend Lenia in her hometown of Hannover, Germany and I loved Germany! It was the perfect break from dissertation writing. We had dinner with her friends after she picked me up from the airport, the next day we went around the city--We saw Prince Ernst August's of Hannover's home--He is the husband to Princess Caroline of Monaco (actually I think she is about to divorce him!) The next day, we went to a German wedding that lasted until 6 the next morning, the next day we shopped and then I had to return to Scotland.
Scotland is as lovely as it always is-the only downside is I've been stuck in my room writing my dissertation and we've had some lovely weather.
Last week, I went to my final Rotary meeting with my Cupar club and I must say I will miss all of them-they are such wonderful people. This Thursday, my friend Mandy and I are having dinner at my host Peter and his wife Anne's home.
Love and hugs!
